SEN. Bong Go on Thursday said infrastructure projects should not be a “milking cow” of corrupt government officials and contractors, stressing their importance to community progress.
“Infrastructure is crucial to us, it should not be for the enrichment of a few people,” Go said during a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a farm-to-market road in Lubang, Occidental Mindoro. The road is among the infrastructure projects he supported.
Go condemned the irregularities in flood control projects, noting billions were poured into such endeavors while health care receives a paltry allocation.
He assured the public that the Senate would continue to probe into the reported collusion among lawmakers, Department of Public Works and Highways officials, and contractors in getting kickbacks from flood control projects.
