Motorists are once again facing mixed fuel price changes this week — with gasoline prices climbing for the third straight week, while diesel and kerosene offer a bit of relief at the pump.
Starting Tuesday, October 21, major oil companies announced that gasoline prices will go up by ₱0.10 per liter, while diesel will drop by ₱0.70 and kerosene by ₱0.60.
In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines (Caltex), Flying V, Petron, Seaoil, and Shell confirmed the new price adjustments, effective 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
Cleanfuel, Petro Gazz, PTT Philippines, and Unioil will also implement the same changes, except for kerosene which they don’t carry. Cleanfuel will apply the new prices slightly later — at 8:01 a.m. on the same day.
Other fuel firms are expected to make their own announcements soon.
According to the Department of Energy’s Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB), the mixed price movement follows a recent crude oil oversupply in the global market, lower oil demand forecasts, and the easing of geopolitical tensions that had previously driven prices up.
Last week, motorists saw a ₱0.30 increase in gasoline prices, while kerosene dropped by ₱0.20 and diesel remained unchanged.
As of October 14, 2025, year-to-date adjustments show a net increase of:
-
₱15.20 per liter for gasoline
-
₱17.85 per liter for diesel
-
₱5.85 per liter for kerosene
For now, drivers may feel a small sigh of relief — but with global oil prices still fluctuating, the road ahead remains uncertain for fuel consumers.
