FUEL prices went up for the fifth straight on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
Gasoline and kerosene prices increased by 10 centavos per liter, and diesel by 50 centavos per liter.
Local oil industry sources said global fuel prices were pushed up by mounting geopolitical tensions following Israel’s attack on Doha, Qatar, targeting Hamas leaders, the incursion of a Russian drone into Poland’s airspace; US tariffs opening new trade opportunities for the shipping industry; and the OPEC+ raising its production at a lower rate than expected.
Since January, the per-liter price of gasoline has risen by P13.90, diesel by P15.25, and kerosene by P3.55.
