MANILA, Philippines — A digital entertainment provider has launched the Philippines’ first-ever surety bond program for online gaming players—setting a new benchmark in player protection.
DigiPlus Interactive Corp., the company behind BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, and GameZone, in partnership with Philippine First Insurance Co. Inc. (PhilFirst), a domestic insurance company, launched the initiative on Wednesday.
“Players always come first,” said DigiPlus Chairman Eusebio H. Tanco.
The program provides players added financial safeguard. The surety bond protects player balances of up to P1 million per player, without requiring customers to purchase a separate policy.
“We are positive that this initiative will become the new benchmark…It has never been done in the gaming industry,” Tanco said.
