MANILA , Philippines — Fire broke out in a village in Marikina City on Saturday, according to a post on TXTFIRE Philippines.
The blaze happened at 10:24 a.m. in Barangay Malanday, a disney populated community where houses are built close to each other, raising concerns over the fire’s possible spread.
As of posting time, the fire has reached second alarm. Firefighters from nearby stations have been dispatched to the scene to prevent the flames from engulfing adjacent homes and establishments.
Authorities have yet to release official details on the number of families affected, the extent of property damage, or if there were any casualties.
Disaster response teams in Marikina are also on standby to provide assistance to residents who may be displaced by the incident.
