Filipina Hurt in Israel Attack Loses Life After Fierce Battle

A Filipina named Leah Mosquera, who worked as a caregiver in Israel, has passed away after being badly hurt during a missile attack last month.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in the Philippines shared this sad news on Sunday. Leah got hurt on June 15 when a missile hit a building in Rehovot, Israel, which is near Tel Aviv.

📞 Her Sister Shared the News

Leah’s sister, who is also working in Israel, told the Philippine government about her death. The DFA said they send their deepest condolences to Leah’s family and loved ones.

“The Department conveys its deepest condolences to Ms. Mosquera’s family and loved ones,” the DFA said.

🇵🇭 Bringing Leah Home

The Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv is now working with local authorities to bring Leah’s body back home to the Philippines as soon as possible.

🙏 Thank You to Medical Heroes and Fellow Filipinos

The DFA also said thank you to the Israeli doctors and nurses who took care of Leah while she was in the hospital. They also thanked the Filipino community in Israel who gave comfort, prayers, and help to Leah’s family during this very hard time.

“We thank the medical professionals who took care of Ms. Mosquera, as well as the Filipino community in Israel,” the DFA said.

💥 What Happened to Leah?

Leah was badly injured when a missile hit a residential building—a place where people live—in Rehovot during the fighting between Israel and Iran.

She was in the hospital for several weeks, fighting for her life. Sadly, her injuries were too serious, and she passed away.

🧳 Many Filipinos in Israel

There are about 30,000 Filipinos living in Israel. Most of them work as caregivers or help in people’s homes. The Philippine government is watching the situation closely and has told all Filipinos in Israel to:

  • Stay alert

  • Follow safety rules

  • Keep in touch with authorities if there’s danger

🕊️ A Call for Peace

As the whole country mourns Leah’s loss, the DFA asked once again for civilians and migrant workers to be protected during times of war or conflict. They reminded everyone that ordinary people—especially workers far from home—should be kept safe.
