Filinvest Powers 11 Facilities with 100% Renewable Energy

The Filinvest Group is taking bold steps toward a greener future. The company announced that 11 of its facilities have officially switched to renewable energy to meet their power needs.

This milestone was made possible through its licensed retail electricity supplier, FDC Retail Electricity Sales Corp. (FDC RES). Four properties were enrolled under the Retail Aggregation Program (RAP), while seven others joined the Green Energy Option Program (GEOP). Together, these facilities represent over 3,000 kilowatts of contracted demand.

The switch covers key buildings in Filinvest City Alabang, Makati, Ortigas, and Quezon City. According to FDC RES president Roderick Fernandez, this move marks the group’s first switch under the expanded RAP, unlocking market-based electricity rates while securing cleaner and more cost-efficient power.

Energy Regulatory Commission Chairperson Atty. Francis Saturnino Juan praised the effort, saying:
“I congratulate FDC RES for being at the forefront of these innovations in our power industry as we work to make energy supply more affordable and reliable for Filipinos.”

Filinvest REIT Corp. also highlighted its progress. Today, 94% of its office portfolio already runs on renewable energy—30 out of 40 buildings, or a total of 651,500 sqm. FILRT president and CEO Maricel Brion-Lirio shared that this shift reflects tenants’ priorities: lower costs, ESG goals, and sustainable workplaces they can be proud of.

This achievement aligns with the Philippines’ national targets of hitting a 35% renewable energy share by 2030 and 50% by 2040.

For Filinvest, the journey is clear: cleaner energy, sustainable growth, and a future where progress doesn’t come at the expense of the planet.
