Actor Epy Quizon is perplexed as to the dissatisfaction voiced by some netizens over Vice Ganda becoming the first artiste to win the Dolphy King of Comedy award at the 66th FAMAS Awards.
As reported on PEP, the actor who is also the son of the late comedian Dolphy, said that he was unaware of the issue and was surprised to find out about the backlash.
“To me, Vice deserves it. Think about it. His movie was a box office hit, like P500 million, right? That alone is good enough a reason, don’t you think?” he said.
When stated that many believed Vic Sotto should be the first to win it, Quizon said that he will respect the decision made by FAMAS in choosing the “Gandarrapido” star.
“I personally have no contention in that decision. I think he deserves it,” he added.
