‘Encantadia’ Fans Mourn the Exit of Fiery Sang’gre Pirena

It’s the end of an era in Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre — and fans are shattered.
After years of fire, strength, and redemption, Sang’gre Pirena, played by Glaiza De Castro, has fallen.

In Tuesday night’s episode, Pirena bravely went to Hathoria to defend her people after peace talks with Mitena (Rhian Ramos) broke down. Ever the leader, she sent Flamarra (Faith Da Silva), Adamus (Kelvin Miranda), and Soldarius (Luis Hontiveros) to Sapiro, while ordering Terra (Bianca Umali) and Deia (Angel Guardian) to remain in Adamya for safety.

But fate had other plans.

While commanding her troops in Hathoria, Pirena came under attack. Arrows rained down on her — one piercing her thigh. Weakened but unyielding, she drew her twin blades, Silab and Alab, and faced the enemy head-on.

Meanwhile, Cassiopeia (Solenn Heussaff) saw the grim vision of what was about to unfold. She sent Griffa to warn Terra, who, along with Deia, rushed to Pirena’s side using the ivictus.

They arrived just as Olgana (Bianca Manalo) was about to deliver the fatal blow. A fierce battle erupted. Deia faced her mother, while Terra fought alongside Pirena against the soldiers.

But in a heartbreaking twist, Olgana overpowered Deia and aimed an arrow straight at Terra — only for Pirena to leap in front of her, taking the hit herself.

Her final act of love mirrored that of her own mother, Mine-a (Marian Rivera).

Moments later, Flamarra and Adamus arrived — but it was too late. Terra desperately tried to heal Pirena using the Brilyante ng Lupa, but the spirit of Harahen, the Kambal-Diwa of the earth gem, whispered that her powers could no longer revive someone who had already crossed over.

The Retres soon came to guide Pirena’s soul to Devas. The once-fiery Sang’gre had finally found peace.
