Coming home should never come with a price.
But for some Filipinos in the United Arab Emirates, desperation is being taken advantage of—and the Philippine Embassy is sounding the alarm.
In a renewed advisory, the Embassy urged Filipinos to be extra cautious… especially when dealing with individuals or groups offering “help” to return home—for a fee.
Because here’s the truth.
You don’t have to pay.
“The Philippine Embassy reiterates its advice to avoid engaging with third parties or agents claiming to facilitate repatriation in exchange for money,” the statement said.
No shortcuts.
No paid processing.
No special access.
Repatriation assistance from the Philippine government is completely free—from start to finish.
Still, some continue to fall into the trap.
People pretending to help.
Promises that sound urgent.
Fees that seem “necessary.”
But behind these offers… are risks.
And consequences.
The Embassy made it clear: anyone caught misrepresenting themselves as part of official government efforts—or collecting money from Filipinos—will face legal action.
No exceptions.
Because at a time when many are simply trying to go home… exploitation has no place.
For Filipinos in the UAE who need help, the Embassy is urging them to reach out directly—no middlemen, no hidden fees.
Assistance is available through official channels, whether by call, text, WhatsApp, or email.
Because help is real.
And it’s already there.
You just have to go to the right place.
If you or someone you know is planning to return to the Philippines, remember this:
If someone is asking you to pay…
It’s not official.
And it’s not worth the risk.
