The wedding of EA Guzman and Shaira Diaz last August 14 was like a scene straight out of a romantic drama. For the couple, it was not just about the vows, the flowers, or the beautiful decorations—it was about the deep moments that touched their hearts forever.
During their guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on August 20, the “King of Talk” asked the newlyweds: “What is the one wedding moment you will never forget?”
For EA, the most unforgettable part happened when he finally hugged Shaira’s father, Daddy Rudy, at the altar. This was not an ordinary hug. It carried the weight of a 12-year-old promise.
EA shared the story:
“Before our wedding, 12 years ago, Shaira’s dad told me something serious. He said, ‘Ed, if you can keep your promise to protect Shaira and keep her pure until marriage, the day you hug me at the altar, you will feel the most wonderful feeling in your life.’ And that’s exactly what I felt that day.”
That hug was not only a sign of acceptance from Shaira’s father—it was also a reminder for EA of his own father who had long passed away. It was a mix of joy, relief, and a little sadness, making the moment even more emotional for him.
Shaira also had her own unforgettable memory. For her, it was the time she danced with her father during the reception. She said with a smile and teary eyes, “Dad, thank you because you accepted EA. I’m so grateful because Edgar worked so hard to win my family’s trust and show that he will never abandon me.”
For EA, another memory that will always stay in his heart was his first dance with his mother. He admitted he almost cried during the dance, but he chose to smile so that his mom could enjoy the moment.
He recalled, “I just looked at her while we were dancing and kept telling her in my heart, ‘I’m here, I’ll always be here for you.’”
These memories prove that the wedding of Shaira and EA was not only a celebration of love between husband and wife, but also a beautiful story of family, promises, acceptance, and unending love.
