MANILA – Actor and former PBB housemate Dustin Yu shared a heartfelt apology to his fans on Saturday after he was unable to make it to an event in Mindoro due to Typhoon Uwan.
In a post on Facebook, the Sparkle star revealed that he had already driven all the way to Batangas Port, ready to cross the waters to meet his supporters. But fate — and the weather — had other plans.
“I sincerely apologize for not being able to make it to Mindoro today,” Dustin wrote.
“I actually drove all the way to Batangas Port, but all RORO trips were cancelled due to the approaching storm that’s about to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility.”
The actor said he had been genuinely excited to be with his fans for the “Rakrakan sa Arawatan” event in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro.
“I hope everyone stays safe while the weather develops,” he added. “Sana makabawi next time when conditions permit.”
Typhoon Uwan has prompted PAGASA to raise Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 in parts of Luzon and Visayas, forcing transport suspensions and event cancellations over the weekend.
Despite the setback, Dustin’s fans have something to look forward to — his upcoming fan concert at the New Frontier Theatre in Quezon City on December 4.
For now, Dustin’s message is clear: safety first — and there will always be a next time.
