DOJ signs lookout bulletin targeting DPWH execs, contractors

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has taken a bold step in the ongoing investigation into the alleged anomalous flood control projects in the country.

DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla has officially signed the first batch of Immigration Lookout Bulletin Orders (ILBOs) against contractors and officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

According to DOJ spokesperson Mico Clavano, this initial list was requested by Senator Rodante Marcoleta, chairperson of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.

“The Secretary has signed the initial batch of ILBOs. This is the request of Senator Marcoleta from the Blue Ribbon Committee,” Clavano confirmed Wednesday.

But the crackdown doesn’t stop there. The DOJ also confirmed that another batch of ILBOs, requested by newly appointed DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon, will be signed on Thursday.

Dizon had earlier asked that 20 individuals be placed under immigration watch, including former Bulacan First District Engineer Henry Alcantara and well-known contractors Sarah and Pacifico Discaya.

Clavano added that the public can expect transparency once the entire list is finalized:

“We will be releasing the full list of names tomorrow. It’s already consolidated, containing the Blue Ribbon Committee and Sec. Vince’s list.”

With both the Senate and the DPWH now pushing to tighten accountability, the move sends a clear signal: no one involved in the flood control mess will easily slip away.
