DOH: 4,328 new COVID-19 cases logged; active tally at 37,344

The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday recorded 4,328 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the total caseload to 3,799,334.

Active cases also increased to 37,344 from 37,189 on Friday.

The National Capital Region registered 15,140 new cases in the past two weeks, followed by Calabarzon with 10,005, Central Luzon with 4,960, Western Visayas with 2,709, and Central Visayas with 2,117.

A total of 4,156 individuals were added to the recovery tally, which now stands at 3,701,201, while 15 new fatalities pushed the death toll to 60,789.

On Friday, coronavirus tests were carried out on 22,424 people, and 324 testing laboratories submitted their results.

The country’s bed occupancy rate stood at 29.2% on Friday, as the number of beds occupied was 8,388, while 20,371 were vacant. — VBL, GMA News
