‘Dante’ leaves 11 dead in the Philippines
The death toll in the aftermath of tropical cyclone Dante (international name: Choi-wan) climbed to 11, the disaster management agency said Sunday.
Aside from the fatalities, two others were reported missing, while three persons were injured, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
All the casualties were reported in Mimaropa, the Visayas, and the regions of Davao and Soccsksargen.
Dante weakened into a tropical depression as it exited the country’s storm monitoring area on Saturday at 9:30 a.m., a day after reentering it, the state weather bureau said.
