Celebrities Lead Powerful Sept 21 Protests in Luneta and EDSA

Manila was alive with energy on Sunday, September 21, as crowds gathered at Luneta Park and the EDSA People Power Monument to protest alleged corruption in government flood control projects.

The twin demonstrations—“Baha sa Luneta: Aksyon na Laban sa Korapsyon” at Rizal Park and the “Trillion Peso March” at EDSA—drew not just ordinary citizens but also some of the country’s biggest names in entertainment, music, and pageantry.

For many, the sight was powerful: artists, celebrities, and personalities marching side by side with the people, demanding accountability and honesty from leaders.

Among those spotted at the rallies were:

  • Vice Ganda

  • Anne Curtis and Jasmine Curtis-Smith

  • Donny Pangilinan and Darren Espanto

  • Cristine Reyes and Jackie Gonzaga

  • Ion Perez and Elijah Canlas

  • Angel Aquino and Pura Luka Vega

  • Tessie Tomas and Jodi Sta. Maria

  • Andrea Brillantes and Maris Racal

  • Marjorie and Leon Barretto

  • Anthony Pangilinan and Gardo Versoza

  • Alex Medina and Iza Calzado

  • Mika Salamanca and Rhian Ramos

  • David Licauco and Julia Barretto

  • Sassa Gurl and Therese Malvar

  • Brent Valdez and Beatrice Gomez

The mix of stars—from seasoned icons like Tessie Tomas to youth influencers like Andrea Brillantes—showed that the frustration over corruption crosses generations and industries.

Crowds cheered as celebrities joined chants, waved banners, and raised their voices. Some fans admitted they came not only to protest but also to see their idols stand for something bigger than fame—justice for the Filipino people.

For many, the rallies were more than just protests. They were a reminder of the power of unity, echoing the spirit of People Power, where history has shown that when Filipinos stand together, they cannot be ignored.
