Boracay Rolls Out ₱150M Ticketing Shift—Will Travel Improve?

Boracay Rolls Out ₱150M Ticketing Shift—Will Travel Improve?

Boracay, one of the Philippines’ most famous beach islands, just made a huge move to fix something that’s been annoying tourists for years: long lines and confusing payments at the port.

On August 5, 2025, in Brgy. Caticlan, Malay, Aklan, government officials and tech leaders launched a ₱150 million smart ticketing system called LezzGo Boracay. It’s the island’s first-ever fully automated ticketing and payment system—both online and on-site.

What’s the Problem?

Before this system, tourists had to stand in three different lines and pay at three different booths before they could ride the boat to Boracay. It was especially bad during summer and holidays, where just crossing to the island took over 30 minutes—sometimes up to 45 minutes!

Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores said people were complaining because it took too long and was very confusing. Tourists had to pay a terminal fee, an environmental fee, and a boat fee, all in separate places. It was tiring and stressful.

What’s the Fix?

Now, with LezzGo Boracay, everything is in one simple step.

✅ Tourists pay all fees at once
✅ Just one line or even online
✅ A QR code is given to scan at the port
✅ No more confusion or delays

The system includes:

  • Terminal Fee – ₱150

  • Environmental Fee – ₱150 (locals) / ₱300 (foreigners)

  • Boat Fee – ₱50

  • Passenger Manifest – also included

🟡 Starting September 1, there will be an extra ₱35 convenience fee to help with system maintenance and data protection.

Big Time Savings

From 30–45 minutes, the travel process is now down to just 10–15 minutes. That’s 50% less waiting time!

Topline Hi Tech CEO Eugene Erik C. Lapasaran Lim explained that before, there were 6–7 steps just to get a boat ticket. Now, it’s all done in just 1–2 steps, and it’s faster and more tourist-friendly.

How Tourists Can Use It

🟢 Visit www.lezzgo.ph
🟢 Fill out your trip info
🟢 Pay online using cash, card, or e-wallet

There are also on-site ticket counters for those who prefer to pay in person.

What’s Coming Next?

📱 Mobile App in 2026
🟦 ₱50 million worth of self-service kiosks by next year
✋ Manual ticketing still available—for now, but will slowly be phased out

Who Helped Make This Happen?

  • Aklan Provincial Government

  • Department of Tourism

  • Topline Hi Tech & Synergy Corp.

This move hopes to make Boracay travel smoother, smarter, and stress-free for the millions of visitors every year.
