Two loyal fan groups of Barbie Forteza and David Licauco—known together by fans as BarDa—have teamed up to raise more than ₱100,000 to help children in need.
Both Barbie and David are ambassadors of Save the Children, an organization that works to protect children’s rights, give them education, and help them during emergencies.
From this huge amount, the BarDa Fans Club donated ₱100,000, while Barbienatics added ₱10,000.
The money was collected through donation drives that fans started in celebration of David’s birthday in June and Barbie’s birthday in July.
Barbie and David’s Reactions
Barbie was deeply touched by the effort:
“Being loved and supported by our fans is already such a blessing,” she said.
“But knowing they now stand for what we stand for—especially children’s rights and education—is truly moving. This means a lot, especially now when so many families have been affected by recent typhoons and floods.”
David also expressed his pride:
“We’re proud of our fans who are now advocates, too. Saludo kami sa inyo. Thank you for using your energy and generosity to support something bigger than all of us—like the future of children,” he said.
Helping Families in Crisis
The donation will support Save the Children’s emergency response for families affected by tropical cyclones Crising, Dante, and Emong, as well as the heavy rains from the Southwest Monsoon.
GMA Network, home of both actors, is also a media partner of Save the Children. Barbie currently stars in the primetime teleserye “Beauty Empire” and recently appeared in the horror film “P77”, while David is in the action series “Never Say Die.”
Save the Children’s Gratitude
Alberto Muyot, CEO of Save the Children Philippines, thanked the fandom and their idols:
“Thank you very much to BarDa FC for Project BarDa Cares, and of course to Barbie, David, and GMA Network for making this possible. Every contribution comes from the heart and goes directly to children in need.”
Save the Children continues to run programs that make sure kids stay healthy, educated, protected, and involved—even during disasters. And thanks to partners, ambassadors, and supportive communities like the BarDa fans, more children will have a brighter future.
