AZ Martinez, a star from Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition, is bursting with love and gratitude for her final teammate, River Joseph. Their bond grew stronger during their time inside the Big Brother house — especially after they became partners during the show’s final challenge.
On a Wednesday morning show called “Unang Hirit”, AZ and River were asked a big question:
“If you were the first to pick a duo, would you still choose River?”
AZ answered with no hesitation:
“Yes! After everything we’ve been through, I would pick River again and again and again.”
That moment melted hearts — because everyone knew she had a tough choice. During the final partner selection in PBB, AZ had to choose between River and another housemate, Esnyr. But AZ went with her heart and picked River, calling him her hero and a light inside the house. River, smiling big, happily accepted her choice.
The Prayerful Duo
Their journey wasn’t easy. AZ and River had to go through many difficult tasks, including the Big Jump Challenge, where they had to balance boxes between their bodies without using their hands!
But what made their team special? They always prayed before doing anything. That’s why fans started calling them the “Prayerful Duo.”
AZ said,
“I believe that God has plans for all of us. If something is meant for you, it will happen. We just have to trust Him completely.”
She added that every time they prayed together, she reminded River:
“Don’t trust in what we know. Don’t trust our own understanding — only trust God and act through faith.”
River agreed and said that when they were tired and ready to give up, praying gave them strength to finish the challenge and make it into the Big 4.
“It was all prayer. It was all God,” he said.
The Final Rankings
AZ and River made it far and ended up as 4th Big Placers of the season! Even though they didn’t win the top prize, their bond and faith inspired many.
