It was more than just a homecoming for Shuvee Etrata—it was also a heartfelt moment of connection for Anthony Constantino.
The Sparkle star joined Shuvee as she returned to her hometown in South Cotabato. There, Anthony met her family, shared stories with them, and even stepped onto the basketball court with her father, Michael.
In an interview on 24 Oras, Anthony couldn’t hide his admiration for the closeness of the Etrata family.
“They’re really so tight, and I really admire that about their family. They showed me their work in the hospital and gave me a glimpse of how they were raised. It’s very inspiring,” he said.
But what stood out most for him was the time he spent with Shuvee’s dad.
“Her dad, Michael, is a really, really good basketball player. I got to play with him and even against him,” Anthony shared with a smile. “That was my favorite part of the trip because I was able to connect with her whole family.”
This isn’t the first time Anthony has joined Shuvee on a homecoming. Just last July, he traveled with her to Bantayan Island in Cebu, where she visited her other relatives.
Beyond family visits, Anthony and Shuvee are also preparing for something big together—the upcoming horror film Huwag Kang Titingin, which will mark Anthony’s film debut.
“I’m super excited for my first project. This will be my debut in film, and I really hope people will love the work we’ve put in,” he said.
The film stars Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay, with Sparkle talents Marco Masa, Michael Sager, Sean Lucas, Josh Ford, Charlie Fleming, and Sherilyn Reyes, alongside Kapamilya actress Kira Balinger. It is directed by Franco Mortiz and co-produced by GMA Pictures and Mentorque Productions Inc.
