Talk about a dream flight! Married couple Angie and Joey Mead King just had the ultimate fangirl moment when they unexpectedly found themselves on the same flight as Formula 1’s rookie sensation, Kimi Antonelli.
Angie couldn’t resist sharing the exciting encounter on Threads, posting a photo with the young Mercedes driver alongside the caption: “Kimi Antonelli is on our flight ✈️.”
At just 18 years old, Antonelli is already making waves in the F1 world. He made his debut at the Australian Grand Prix in March and later became the youngest pole sitter in the sport’s history this May. The Italian racer celebrated his 19th birthday on August 25, marking another milestone in what many say is a superstar career in the making.
This isn’t Angie and Joey’s first brush with Formula 1 legends either. Just last month, they attended the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, where they had close encounters with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.
Racing runs in Angie’s blood, too. She’s an accomplished race car driver herself—though she had a scary moment last year when her prized Acura NSX burst into flames along SLEX. Thankfully, she walked away unharmed.
Together since 2011, Angie and Joey continue to inspire with their love story. Angie came out publicly as transgender in 2016, and the couple has since become advocates for authenticity and living boldly.
Now, with a chance meeting 30,000 feet in the air, they’ve added yet another unforgettable memory to their journey.
