And then there are 5 as Robredo officially joins presidential race

MANILA TIMES

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte’s most ardent critic, Vice President Maria Leonora “Leni” Robredo has filed her certificate of candidacy (CoC) for president, hoping to rally the opposition behind her to stop whoever the administration party will field in the upcoming 2022 polls.
Robredo formalized her presidential bid on Thursday, hours after she formally announced her intention to run, becoming the fifth major candidate to join the presidential race.
Robredo, 56, will be facing a strong challenge from the four other major candidates that includes former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., her archrival in the 2016 vice presidential race.
The three other presidential contenders are Senators Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao and Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso.
Robredo, wife of the late former Naga City mayor and Local Government Secretary Jessie Robredo, is a staunch-critic of the Duterte administration.
If elected, Robredo would be the third woman president to lead the country after the late president Corazon Aquino (1986-1992) and ex-president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.(2001-2010).
