Alabang came alive one Sunday morning in July, as wagging tails and smiling faces filled Central Park, Filinvest City. Nearly 50 pet owners, joined by their four-legged companions, gathered with one simple mission: to walk together for a cause that celebrates sustainability, wellness, and the joy of having pets in the community.
The event, a free pet-friendly community walk, wasn’t just about fun. It was a heartfelt gesture to show Somerset Alabang Manila’s commitment to creating a space that’s not only people-friendly but also “furry companion approved.”
With “Carless Sunday” keeping the roads safe, the participants happily strolled a kilometer from Central Park to Somerset Alabang Manila. Every step was a show of support for sustainability and for keeping Alabang a safe and welcoming home for both pets and their humans.
This walk was also a special milestone — part of Somerset Alabang Manila’s 9th anniversary celebration. Opened in 2016, the property has become a cornerstone of southern Metro Manila, welcoming business travelers, expats, and families who love the comforts of home in a serviced residence.
When the cheerful group reached Somerset, they were greeted with lively pop-up booths from beloved brands like Royal Canin PH, Vitality Dog Food Ph, Entrée Gourmet Pet Treats, Zert, Furmagic, and many more. It felt less like a formal event and more like a festival for pets and their owners, with treats, goodies, and friendly faces all around.
Adding a deeper purpose to the fun, the CORA Eco-Ikot Center joined the celebration. Participants brought in recyclables — and together, they collected an incredible 106.5 kilograms of clean, dry, and segregated waste. In return, they received eco-friendly giveaways like paw print keychains made from shredded plastic and pet bibs crafted from upcycled linens. It was a powerful reminder that even small actions can create a big impact for the planet.
But the celebration didn’t stop there. Somerset Alabang Manila made sure its guests — both pets and humans — felt valued beyond the walk. A special anniversary room promo, “The 3rd Night’s a Gift,” ran throughout July, giving guests a free extra night on top of their two-night booking. With perks like buffet breakfast for two, discounts on dining and spa services, free parking, and access to the pool, kids’ playroom, and fitness center — it was an irresistible treat.
At its heart, this anniversary walk wasn’t just about Somerset Alabang Manila marking nine years. It was about celebrating a community that loves, cares, and walks together — proving once again that in Alabang, pets aren’t just welcome. They’re family.
