MANILA — AirAsia X (AAX) has officially launched direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Türkiye, opening exciting new travel opportunities for Filipinos eager to explore Istanbul.
The first flight took off on November 14, marking a significant step in AirAsia X’s expansion of its long-haul network. The move reflects the airline’s commitment to making global travel more accessible and affordable.

The launch has also drawn praise from diplomats. Ambassador Emir Salim Yüksel of Türkiye to Malaysia said the Kuala Lumpur–Sabiha Gökçen International Airport route would strengthen Türkiye-Malaysia relations and broaden global connectivity.
For travelers from the Philippines, reaching Istanbul has become easier than ever. Passengers can fly to Kuala Lumpur from Manila or Cebu, with 14 weekly flights, and connect seamlessly to Istanbul. AirAsia X will operate four direct flights per week on this route, offering convenience and efficiency for both business and leisure travelers.
