(UPDATE) MANILA, Philippines — The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) announced its participation in the 3rd Quarter 2025 National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City on Thursday.
The exercise aims to improve the country’s preparedness against earthquakes.
In a statement released Friday, the AFP said the drill, spearheaded by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, tested its coordination and operational capabilities with Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils and partner agencies across the National Capital Region.
The drill included emergency communications use, inter-agency collaboration, logistical operations, and urban search and rescue procedures.
The AFP said its continued participation in the NSED reaffirms its role as a key responder in the country’s disaster preparedness and management efforts.
