Fans poured into the streets, rain or shine, just to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars.
On Friday afternoon, Will Ashley, Bianca De Vera, Dustin Yu, and other film celebrities happily greeted the public during the Metro Manila Film Festival 2025 float parade. Smiles were everywhere. Hands waved nonstop. And the excitement? You could feel it in the air.
According to Athena Imperial’s report on “24 Oras,” the parade kicked off shortly after 2 p.m. along Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City, rolling all the way to JP Rizal Street in Makati City.
Halfway through the celebration, heavy rain began to fall.
But no one backed down.
The stars stayed on their floats, waving, laughing, and interacting with fans who refused to leave the streets.
“Ramdam na ramdam talaga namin lalo ‘yung Christmas spirit at ‘yung pagmamahal ng mga Pilipino,” Bianca shared, clearly moved by the moment.
Will echoed the same emotion, especially as a first-timer at the parade.
“Pinapakita nila sa amin ‘yung suporta. Kaya ‘yung first time namin, masasabi ko na napakasaya at memorable,” he said.
Dustin couldn’t hide his amazement either.
“Grabe talaga ang pagmamahal ng mga Pilipino tuwing Pasko. Grabe ‘yung suporta nila,” he added.
The three stars headline the film “Love You So Bad,” one of the much-anticipated entries this year.
Joining them were Kapuso and Sparkle artists representing their own MMFF films. The Legaspi family appeared for “Rekonek.” Carla Abellana, Manilyn Reynes, and Elijah Alejo brought thrills from “Shake, Rattle, and Roll.” Glaiza de Castro and Rocco Nacino represented “Bar Boys,” while Shuvee Etrata and Mika Salamanca joined the celebration for “Call Me Mother.”
Rain may have fallen—but the cheers only grew louder.
Because for Filipino fans, especially at Christmas, love for local films and stars always shines through.
