Anne Curtis’ Mom Slams Bong Suntay Over Daughter Remark

The reaction was swift.
And deeply personal.

Carmen Curtis, the mother of actress Anne Curtis, did not hold back after hearing the controversial remarks made by Quezon City Rep. Bong Suntay during a House hearing.

On Tuesday, Carmen took to Facebook and posted a message that was short—but filled with anger.

Mr. Bong Suntay [you are a] sick man, I reckon!! [You’re] foul!!” she wrote.

The words were blunt. Direct. And impossible to ignore.

Carmen also shared the Facebook post of Anne’s sister, Jasmine Curtis, who spoke out strongly about the issue.

For Jasmine, the controversy is bigger than one celebrity.

She said the situation reflects a deeper problem—how women are often reduced to their bodies in spaces dominated by men in power.

“This is not just about one female celebrity,” Jasmine stressed.

She said the issue highlights a pattern that many women continue to face, especially in positions where power and influence are involved.

Jasmine also called for accountability.

If the country truly wants safer spaces for “our daughters, nieces, and future leaders,” she said, responsibility must start with the people elected to lead.

The backlash came after Suntay made a controversial statement during the House committee on justice hearing on the pending impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte.

During the proceedings, Suntay recalled seeing Anne Curtis at a hotel and openly spoke about the thoughts that crossed his mind.

The remark immediately drew criticism.

Many questioned why such a statement was made during an official congressional hearing.

Among those who spoke out was Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte.

Belmonte urged the congressman to take responsibility for what he said.

“We call on Congressman Suntay to take full accountability for his remarks, issue a proper apology, and conduct himself with the dignity that his office—and our city—demand,” she said.

“Our people deserve no less.”

Meanwhile, as the controversy unfolded back home, Anne Curtis herself was dealing with an unexpected situation overseas.

Her flight from Italy to Dubai was suddenly rerouted due to airstrikes launched by the United States and Israel against Iran, escalating tensions in the Middle East.

For a moment, fans worried about her safety.

But there was relief soon after.

According to Carmen, Anne safely landed in Oman and was able to reunite with her husband Erwan Heussaff and their daughter Dahlia.

Despite the storm of controversy surrounding her name, the actress is now safe—back with her family.

And for many watching the issue unfold, the conversation has moved beyond a single remark.

It has become a reminder of something bigger.

Respect, accountability, and how those in power choose their words.
