Geneva Cruz Graduates at 49, Proves It’s Never Too Late

More than three decades after she first stepped into college, Geneva Cruz has finally reached a moment she once had to put on hold.

She is now a college graduate.

The singer and actress shared the emotional milestone on Instagram, posting a photo of herself proudly wearing her graduation toga and holding her cap. She tagged Philippine Christian University, the school where she completed her degree.

Her caption said it all.

“As I approach my golden age in less than a month, I realize that some of my dreams are still coming true,” Geneva wrote.

“Thirty-three years in the making, but I finally did it! Look, ma, I’m now a college graduate!!!”

For Geneva, the moment wasn’t just about earning a diploma.

It was about keeping a promise to her younger self.

A dream paused, but never forgotten

Looking back, Geneva said this achievement is dedicated to the 19-year-old version of herself — the young woman who had to grow up fast.

At that age, life changed quickly.

She became a mother and had to focus on raising a child while building a career. Because of that, her education had to take a back seat.

But the dream never truly disappeared.

“Thank you for being brave and for finally learning to love yourself,” she wrote, reflecting on her long journey.

Returning to school after decades

In August 2024, Geneva revealed she had returned to school to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Philippine Christian University in Manila.

Before that, she had originally studied AB Literature at University of Santo Tomas.

But life had other plans.

After becoming a young mother, she had to stop her studies.

Still, she said she never regretted the decision.

“I have no regrets because I have a beautiful son,” she shared.

A mother’s inspiration

Years later, something inspired her to return to school.

Her daughter.

Geneva said having a 10-year-old daughter motivated her to finally finish what she started.

She wanted to show her children that dreams don’t expire.

“I strongly believe in setting a positive example for my children,” she said. “That’s what pushed me to dedicate time to finishing my degree.”

The journey wasn’t easy.

It took courage.

And patience.

But after 33 years, the goal was finally within reach.

A proud moment for her family

Today, Geneva celebrates this achievement with her two children, Heaven and London, who have been part of her inspiration along the way.

Her story is a powerful reminder that life doesn’t always follow a straight path.

Sometimes dreams pause.

Sometimes they wait.

But as Geneva Cruz just proved — it’s never too late to finish what you started.
