5-year-old saved from hostage taker in Pasig

A five-year-old kid was saved from a 34-year-old hostage taker who surrendered to authorities after a negotiation in Pasig City before dawn Thursday.

Initial investigation showed at around 3:00 a.m., Pasig City Police Station – Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) received a radio message from Station Tactical Operation Center (STOC) about an ongoing hostage taking at Blk 22, Batok Street, Eusebio Avenue, Brgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.

Police said prior to the incident, the suspect was chased by the people in the area for allegedly being a thief.

The suspect, armed with a bladed weapon, entered a house and took the five-year-old kid as hostage.

He was identified as alias “Luigie”, single, jobless, and a resident of Barangay Pinagbuhatan. He was brought to the police station for investigation and filing of complaints.–Sherylin Untalan/AOL, GMA Integrated News
