2-week negative COVID-19 growth rate in NCR except for 9 areas -DOH

The National Capital Region as a whole had a 2-week negative COVID-19 growth rate except for nine areas, the Department of Health (DOH) said Friday.

“There are 9 areas in the National Capital Region that have a positive 7-day growth rate as of October 28, 2021,” the DOH said in a statement.

It did not disclose the nine areas.

“Naka-negative pa rin. Meron lang specific area ‘yung 2-week growth rate,” Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario meanwhile stressed in a news briefing.

(It’s still negative. There are just specific areas with the 2-week growth rate.)

Meanwhile, the healthcare utilization rate of the region was classified as low risk.

It recorded an average daily attack rate of 7.4 per 100,000 population.

Vergeire said that for the NCR to be downgraded to an alert level 2, it should have an ADAR of 7 or less.

Malacanang earlier announced that the government extended the Alert Level 3 classification in the region.

Meanwhile, the DOH assured that it was closely monitoring all areas in the country, especially those that show an increase in cases.

It also called on the public to follow health protocols against COVID-19.

The Philippines logged a total of 2,779,943 confirmed cases. — DVM, GMA News
