2 Filipino Nurse Assistants in New Jersey Face Charges for Alleged Patient Abuse

In New Jersey, two Filipino nurse assistants, Dhenmark Francisco (28) and Jovi Esperanza (31), have been arrested for allegedly assaulting a patient at a rehabilitation center.

The attack reportedly happened at a facility in Berkeley Township, and it left the 52-year-old patient in critical condition, according to officials. The center’s manager quickly reported the incident to the police. The patient was taken to Community Medical Center and is now in stable condition.

Francisco was arrested the day after the alleged assault, and Esperanza turned himself in later. Both are now in Ocean County Jail, waiting for a court hearing to decide if they can post bail.

Investigators are still looking into why this happened, and no motive has been shared yet.
