There are now 491,258 cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines as 1,524 new infections were recorded, the Department of Health (DOH) said Tuesday.
The DOH said of the total cases, 23,532 or 4.8 percent are considered active cases.
Most of the active cases, or 85.1 percent, are mild cases, while 5.5 percent are asymptomatic, 5.7 percent are critical, 3.2 percent are severe and 0.54 percent are moderate.
Davao City was recorded to have the most number of new cases with 137, followed by Quezon City with 109, Rizal with 92, Davao del Norte with 53, and Cebu City with 51.
There were also 44 new recoveries and 139 deaths, bringing the total to 458,172 and 9,554, respectively.
The DOH said that there were two duplicates, of which one was a fatality, removed from the total case count.
Meanwhile, there were 78 cases previously tagged as recoveries but were later reclassified as deaths.
Six laboratories were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 data respiratory system on Jan. 11, the DOH said.
